Group 1 Shots: Reference Notes
*Many takes include motion that we will not need. This was mostly for the actors to put the shot in context. I am pointing this out for each shot, but please see the animatic and story reel for a better idea of exactly where the motion begins and ends.
“*” Takes are the ones to use for mocap imports. Use the positive comments about the other takes to modify the “*” ones after the mocap is imported.
AMAN600
All takes include motion at the beginning and end that will not be included; only the steps (1-3) directly before and after the “grab” will be included in the shot.
Take 1: too slow overall; too general; not enough going on
Take 2: ditto
Take 3: good up through and including the grab
Take 4: movement not restricted enough; too fast
Take 5: good head movement; shaking right hand is nice after the grab
*Take 6: good body movement after the grab (appears to be struggling with quick movement)
BADT300
Take 1: shoulder movement is good; piece held too close to body the whole time
*Take 2: overall its good; movement of arms good; cautious walk good
DISP800: no mocap yet
Take 1: too subtle
Take 2: too much build up; good after the exhale (blinking/eye movement)
Take 3: good, strong exhale—maybe too long though; arm motion is good; chest heave is good

Will only use a couple steps before the grab and several after; already in motion when the shot begins; in motion when the shot ends.
Take 1: too slow and cautious
Take 2: too slow; lack of real direction
Take 3: disregard long pause; little dip before the grab is good
*Take 4: good swing of arms and loosening of body; conveys cockiness well

Take 2: yes; Maestro’s hand movements are very good and linear except for horizontal finger wave (third no-no), good subtle shake of Maestro’s head in beginning; Cuervo displays good Joe Montana Statue of Liberty stance and recovers it well when Maestro turns around; good body movement when he backs away in reaction to Maestro’s lecturing; good circular head motion of disappointment for Cuervo

*Take 1: yes; good movement of the head (circular motion when walking away); nice pose while looking at piece; sway of arms and body motion shows lack of excitement (which is what we want)
